Economic Inequality: Occupy Protests

Hundreds of Occupy London protesters have set up a tent city in the shadow of St Paul's Cathedral.

Inspired by similar protests in New York's Wall Street financial district, activists had hoped to occupy the London Stock Exchange.

Instead the Canon Chancellor of nearby St Paul's Cathedral said the group were welcome to set up camp on the church grounds.

Police officers have been called in, but the peaceful nature of the protests means they are simply standing and watching events unfold.

These protests are going on just down the road from us. It has been a peaceful demonstration here, unlike some other places, but police teams are everywhere monitoring the situation to assure that it remains tame. We have not felt threatened or afraid by the protests. It is actually a little thrilling to see.

Here is a link to an article that tells more info.

"We are part of a global movement of people who are fed up with the current system."
